River smallmouth bass during winter

Find eddies where foam and surface debris float in reverse to current flow. These slack water spots attract

smallmouth bass in cold, swift water.

This small eddy held an energetic two-pound smallmouth. Fighting quality-size fish in such

tight quarters will leave you with a racing heart.

Even large fish can be landed quickly on light tackle when water temperature is below the

                                        smallmouth’s preferred range.
